Default (new) progressive 422 series shocks

Is anyone running these new shocks from progressive? I have emailed the company asking the difference between the 413 and 422 series, and which would be better for my ride 05 FLSTCI. Their reply was, " the 422 was the way to go".
That didn't answer my question.

I have just purchased a set of 422's for my 97 FLSTC,the handling has certainly improved but every time I hit a bump ,I'm thrown out of the saddle. The ride is a little firm, maybe I haven't found the right amount of preload yet so I will reserve judgement.Sorry I can't help with the difference with the 413,I did read it somewhere but due to old age I can't remember where.

I believe one of the major differences is that the 422s are ride-height adjustable, where the 413s are not (according to other posts I've read here). I believe there are also major internal differences, but I cannot speak to details there. I have a set for sale, new in box - here

I put the 422 on my bike about 10,000 ago and am very happy with the ride. I have them adjusted to lower the bike about 1.5 " and a little firmer preload. I believe that the overall handling and quaility of comfort is better than with the stock shocks.

I have heard that an Air Ride system is the best way to go, but for the money Im very satisfied with my Progressive 422, I got them fro mPhat performance parts for 370.00 shipped

I just installed them in my 'train and I agree the handling is much better than the stock shocks, I do have to adjust the preload a little more too soft right now. I like them and also agree if you can swing for air then do it, the best of both worlds

My brother in law just bought an 09 train and wants to lower his bike. Are the 422 the way to go? He wants to lower it about 2 inches. He has a passenger a good amount. Not all the time but a lot. Thanks

The 422s replaced the 413s in their product line.
