Default Help-- my Heritage is dead!!

Took my heritage to church and back Sunday and it ran fine. Went to get on it monday morning to go to work and when i turned on the ignition switch none of my lights came on but the front fender lamp and the speedometer backlight. I then turned on the run switch on the handlebar to engage the fuel pump and it did not prime like it normally does. When i hit the start button - nothing. The green neutral light also does not illuminate nor the turn signals/running lights. The brake light is the only light that will illuminate -when i hit the brake of course. My air horn also works. Battery is only a couple of months old and connections are tight and all fuses are fine. I tried to pull codes but it did not work. I do not see any loose wires and am at a loss. Could this be an ignition module malfunction?

Please any ideas i really do not want to haul it to the stealership!

Thanks in advance for any advice. Oh, -my bike is fuel injected

Could it be a security system problem? I don't know what year it is but maybe your keyfob battery is bad or maybe you still have the security system still turned on. After that I'm not sure.

same thing happened to me and it was the battery in the keyfob. remove the battery and replace it. the 2.50 battery is cheaper than getting it towed to the dealer. make sure you install the battery the right way. try it.

If all ground connections are good... I suspect the battery. Even a so-called new battery can go bad!

We had a FatBoy on a ride this summer that acted a lot like that and it was the fob battery. It's a cheap piece and can be gotten at any drug store. It's the same that's used in GM cars. If that don't work it seems that your ignition switch might be going to accessory instead of 'on'. That's where I'd look next.

I agree with the switch being faulty.

i had this problem earlier this year, mine wouldn't start so swapped keyfob battery's and then fired up no probs, but on a run i completely lost all power we thought it was the security, but a friend who is a techi at the local HD told me there is a circuit breaker under the rear fender that corrodes, try this first look at the back of the bike from the right side (exhaust). first disconnect the battery and at the bottom of the fender there is a plastic extension, this is held on by two small bolts, undo the bolts then slide the plastic up and pull away, can be done when bikes on its jiffy stand, look up and you should be able to see two wires attached to nuts check these as mine fell to pieces it is a circuit breaker if not bad then clean area and replace every thing and then try to start, hope this helps.

mine acted like that too and a fob battery (CR2032) corrected it....I'd had the bike TWO months...thought those batteries would last 2-3 years.

Well.....I replaced the battery in the fob and it didn't change a thing, will try to look at circuit breaker under fender......and not sure how to diagnose the switch without taking it in to HD. It seems like it could be that or maybe the ignition module??
