Default Cold Weather Riding Gear

Are they any suggestions for something to wear under your jeans that the wind can't cut through ? My upper body stays warm the leather jacket does a great job but I need something for under my jeans to keep my legs from getting frozen and really can't get myself to do the chaps thang even though I know its the sensible solution

I have UnderArmor and they are warm and very comfortable. Make sure you buy the heavier version, though. Dick's Sporting Goods carries them.

+1 on the Underarmor, they do a gtreat job, but really Chaps are the answer, who cares what anyone else thinks, better to be comfortable.

I spend a lot of time researching, and money buying good gear to keep me comfortable riding year-round. I've given you some websites to head you in the right direction. Look for keywords like windstopper, goretex, and thinsulate. Find something that suits your style. Let me know if you need help on specifics or narrowing down your choices. Don't be afraid to spend some cash for good gear, you'll be glad you did. Leather is great for abrasion resistance, but sux for layering as it's too heavy and doesn't insulate well. Good luck.

Are you still wearing regular jeans or lined jeans? I have flannel lined jeans from Cabelas, then thermals. I also use some stoney straps to hold the jean bottoms in place.

Wind Deflectors with a thin thermal under your pants.
