My set screws are not on the risers themselves, not to cover.

Helicoils and stainless screen on the bottom of the risers. No problems since.

Time to eat my words, my handelbars started feeling loose on the way home, pulled it into the garage and checked it, the front right screw on the risers stripped out. Dam it. Never had any problems now this.

Just wanted to say thanks to brettnbamma and others. Took my bike back to HD today after the riser screw stripped out on the way home yesterday. There is a problem with the stock risers. HD put heli-coils in the screw holes and replaced the rubber bushings with poly. The poly bushings are "special order" for these bikes so the part # is 0602-0397. This is as far as HD will go to fix the problem. When they inspected the risers a total of 3 screw holes were failing. I know for a fact it was not from over torque. The off the record reccomendation is to replace the risers completly with a solid aluminum type instead of the pot metal OEM.

Had the same problem with my FXSTS. Got new poly bushings and that solved the problems. Bars won't move now!
