Default Fat boy ride quality question

I'm going to buy either a Fat Boy or a Deluxe and I just can't decide. One question I have, is there a noticeable difference in the ride between the low profile side wall and 17 in. wheel on the Fat Boy compared to the bigger sidewall and 16 in. wheel on the Deluxe?

All joking aside. You gotta ride em both to really find the one that rides best for you.

I rode every softail model available except the bones and the rocker. And for me, the fatty lo was the ride for me. Low to the ground, good clearance, nice ride, and had that bad *** attitude that I wanted.

For every rider, its different. So your gonna get a bunch of bias opinions from most of us.....

Good luck with the hunt

I agree with FatBoyVeteran. Ride all the bikes that you're considering, then pick based off what fits you best. I was torn between a Road King Custom and a Fat Boy Lo. Rented each of them for a day, first the Road King (because I was fairly certain that was the direction I was gonna go). Pulling out of the lot on the Lo and I knew this was the bike for me. The rest of the day just confirmed it.

I've never ridden a Deluxe, so can't give you any feedback there.

Thanks. Yeah, I already took the fronts off. I'm gonna take the back ones off soon. Have to pull the fender off to install the quick disconnect kit for the sissy bar.

Why do you need to pull the fender off to install the quick release? Just get the rear tire off the ground and you can do it no problem. i did it myself. Don't take the fender off if you don't need to.

If I can do that, I will, but I read through the instructions for the directional relocation (H-D part# 54268-10) and it seems like I have to be able to access the back of the strut, which necessitates taking off the fender.

Sorry, I said I needed to pull the fender off to install the quick release, but I was combining the directional relocate and the quick release into one install in my mind.
