All exicited as I just received my new 21" Ride Wright Fat Daddy Wheel and Caliper I get everything put back together when tightening the axle retainer nuts one of the damn studs brake.
It looked like the retainer wasn't sitting flush so me being the idiot that I am I wrench on them pretty good and snap. The last damn bolt to tighten I brake it!!!! Man I'm pissed. Can Harley put a softer stud on?
Guess I should have waited for my Service manual to check the torque, but I couldn't wait to get the new wheel on. Well I guess I'll be making a run to the hardware store tomorrow.
Anyone else had this issue and know what the reccomended torque is for an 07 lux?
I hate it when that kind of crap happens....and it happens to me all the time. I just put some Ride Wrights on my bike. I'm not sure for an '07, but for an '06, those axle retainer nuts only get torqued to 11-15 ft-lbs. according to my manual, page 2-11.
