Good lord I am broke and can not afford that.... Thanks Steve for the link.

I am being cheap this year. My only investment is shotgun shocks and that is because i saved up for them.

I went to Lowe's and bought a cheap 12V universal garage door remote and wired that into my hi-beam switch. As long as the remote operates on 12V, it's a simple install. If not, you can wire in a Bosch-style SPST relay that is triggered by a 12V source like the hi-beam or horn switch, and completes the lower voltage remote circuit. It sounds more complicated than it is.

I agree here if you need lower voltage use the horn button to operate the relay thats works the opener. I moved my coil and the horn is on the shelf never use it and no inspection here so far.

Kiethhu has a good idea with the trip/info button. It's cheap, simple and factory looking. The only things I would do differently is not use wire nuts, those are more for houses and the vibration could eventually work them loose. Also when soldering the switch to the remote, simply disconnect the wires from the original switch on the remote (you're in there anyway). This would eliminate the need for the paint stick.
