I need help. I checked the previous discussions and didn't find an answer.
I ordered 16" Burly Gorilla bars from J&P Cycles. First they sent me black instead of the chrome that I ordered. Then my chrome bars got held hostage in Hodgkins, IL due to weather . Now I have to go back to work and don't have time to remove the tank to measuer the Throttle and Idle cables. I wanted to have all the measurements to order them ten days before I get back so they will be here when I get home. (I work on ships and am gone for a month at a time).
My question..
I mocked up the new bars and measured from the handlebar clamp to the end of the bars both the Apes and the original. I was wondering if anyone put Gorilla bars on thier ride and remember the measurement? Does +10" sound right? If I don't get an answer I guess I will wait until I get back but it would be nice to have them sitting in the garage next to my beer chest.
what size are your risers? If your risers are 2" than you might be a little bit long. When I ordered my bars from Nash, 18" total rise, all of my cables were +8.

2" risers. I would rather be a little long obviously other than short. I figure that I may have measured cautiously, added an inch. Thats the girlfriends theory anyways...
Thanks all... I got the information from Barnett. If anyone wants to know... The 2008 FLSTC stock Throttle cable is a 31" casing, the Idle is also 31" and the clutch is 64".
If anyone is needing measurements and cant get to their bike or don't have time to pull the tank off try calling Barnett at 805 642-9435.
The other option is Magnum Sterling chromite II's which are far nicer than Barnett. Barnett also takes forever hence the fact I don't sell too many of their cables.
