hillcountrycustomcycles.com is one idea. You can buy the apes in a kit and they'll include the all wire extensions and cables you need. Takes all the guesswork out and the prices are reasonable. And oh yeah, get the shop manual for your bike, if you are inclined to install the bars yourself. It will be $60 well spent. Beats $500 for labor, which is ridiculous, btw. And here's a hint to save you a lot of frustration with this project as well: take the tank off completely.

These are the parts I put on my XBones - from J&P Cycles - I extended the wires myself -you can look at my profile pics of my XBones to see what it looks like.
I don't know about removing the tank, I never have, but I will say it can be a bitch to run the throttle cables under the tank.... but persevere and you'll get 'em.
The brake line fittings ARE different sizes top and bottom, so dbl-ck (12 & 10mm)!!!!

WLD ONE 1 1/4" 16" CHUBBY BARS - 502-218

12MM 35 DEGREE BANJO FITTING - 241-764

10MM 90 DEGREE BANJO FITTING - 241-765

BRAKE LINE 54" LONG BLACK - 241-760 (could have gone with 52")

BLACK CLUTCH CABLE (+6) - 520-939

BARNET BLK THR CBL+6 - 521-296

BARNET BLK IDL CBL+6 - 521-368

I splice in all my own wires - just buy the correct colors / grade and have at it, but again depends on your level of comfort.
Be VERY careful if you do it yourself to put a "spacer" in the brake and clutch handles so you don't break the switches - all you need is a piece of cardboard to fit in there and hold them open and off the switches - may be in the manual on doing this, I don't recall.

I went with 16" pudgy midget gimps from Nash cycles. I love the look on the springer front end. Also check out BR custom bars, he makes some great bars also. Give Dr. V-twin a call on cables and wires. I did the install myself and it wasnt bad. Just do some searching on here for ape hanger install and you wont have a problem. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck

You need +8" cables. There are quite a few options all dependent on how much you are willing to spend and what look you want. A set of black cables with wiring extensions from Burly is $199 through us. A set of Magnum sterling chromite II's is a bit more, but looks much nicer. Contact me via email or PM if you want specific pricing. I also recommend getting polyurethane riser bushings. Although the Bones comes with apes they do not come with poly riser bushings which alleviate the flex from regular rubber bushings.

If I recall, I used pretty much same dimensions at 05guy above. I went with Magnum Black Pearl. 74" for the clutch cable and 54" for the brake line. As I went with internal throttle, I just used a universal 60" and cut it to the dimensions needed.

If I were you, I'd buy the manual and save the $500. That seems kind of high and you ought to be able to do it yourself over the weekend at the most. You can buy a wiring kit (Novella?) for about $40 or go to the HD dealer and buy the Molex pins. Use 20 gauge wire (single color ok...just don't mix your pin placement).

Good luck.
