Thought I'd give this a try to bring the stock bars up and back a bit, without laying out the cash for new bars, etc. I think it turned our pretty well, and I'm anxious to see how they feel after a few miles down the road; but that'll have to wait until spring thaw.

I did the same with my Heritage. It helped a little, but I just didn't like the way it looked. Sure was cheaper than Apes though.
Ended up going with Harley's 16" Apes and Risers and really like the set up.
I believe I'm heading in the same direction, just needed to confirm bar positioning, etc. I'm looking at your setup or a kit from HCC (maybe flyin' apes by Carlini...hell I might as well had cholos. My wife's gonna kill me...)
How long were the risers? I was thinking of doing the same thing. After I put on new seat, it just feels like the grips would be better a bit higher and rolled back a little. I was thinking 1.0" or something close to that.
Near as I could tell, about 3" taller and about an 1" back. No cable change at all. I did remove the front brake line clamp attached underneath the triple tree though...

I tried doing the same thing and ran into a problem... When I turn all the way to the left - the risers will hit the speedometer housing. How did you avoid that problem?
