Default Deluxe Windshield Question

I currently have the Low Profile windshield (detachable)on my deluxe. With changing my seat I now need a taller windshield (3"). I went to a local dealer (never reliable) who informed me I cannot exchange to a standard size replacement shield because it will my low profile brackets. I read several folks here have changed the windshield. Has anyone here been able to replace their windshield without buying the entire setup (windshield, brackets, and hardware)? I hate coughing out $400 just to raise the windshield a few inches.

I also have the HD Low Profile windshield. Yes you can change the shield (lexan or plastic) and use your same hardware for about 100.00. Try www.ceebaileys.com they make a better quality replacement shield than the HD and you use your own hardware.

My Wife's FB has the "Low Profile" and my Deluxe has the "large" one....The brackets are identical. My shield is exactly 3 inches taller than hers....I like both...

Funny when I was looking at cutting down my nostalgic my dealer showed me the lower smoked shield and told me I could just replace the glass (plexiglass). Different dealers....hmmmm

New here and just finding my way around the site. I`m 5' 8" and my Hertiage stock windshied is too tall. I measured it from arc at top of head light 20 1/4. Is this where to measure to compare to the the cccbaileys web site? I seen others have had stock windshield cut down at local glass shop. Any idea what that costs. I always heard the top of wind shiel should align with tip of your nose.

Thanks for the site XARAN let us know how you like the new shiel bobroo

Received the windshield from Ceebaileys yesterday. Perfect fit with HD brackets. Thicker and cleaner cut that original HD shield. Thanks again XARAN.
