Default speedo quits

This has happened twice now.... if i really jam through the gears(1-4) I will notice that it no longer shows my speed, 6th gear light and will run kinda rough even has shut off when coming up to a stop. Shut bike off using ignition switch, wait a few seconds and all is well!!

Any ideas? any reason for major concern?

thanks

Sounds like the speed sensor on top of the transmission..
Clean it off, plug it back and check.. Replace the sensor if it keeps doing it

My 06 Sporty did the same thing. As long as I was riding easy, no problem. As soon as I got on the throttle hard, the speedo would drop out. Turn off ignition, turn back on, all is well. What I found was a wire under my gas tank that had been rubbing against my idle/throttle cables, which happen to be braided. As soon as I would get on the throttle it would shift the position of the cables and make contact with the exposed wires causing a ground fault I suppose you could call it.
