What a pain in the *** this has been. I ripped off the exhaust and the bottom one slip right out. The top one has more of a bend to it and it is really stuck in there. I've been spraying it down with WD40 and pb blaster, took out the dremmel and cut into the baffle a little, whacked the pipe with a mallet. So far no luck but I know I will get it out soon. If any of you guys are considering doing this, be prepared to spend some time on it. Luckily I got the rest of the day to dick around
take some round metal rod 1/8 dia or so, bend a hook on one end, however long it needs to be to have some sticking out the pipes while hooking the baffle with the hook, then attach a pair of vice grips to the end and knock out the baffle by tapping on the grips..
and its out! tapping the pipe with the sledge helped also hitting the baffle so the gap was uniform around the inside of the pipe helped. It was getting stuck on the bottom end for a bit then after a few whacks and a pull, came right out.
Just finished a baffle swap on my bike too, and yes, it does suck. But besides a lot of swearing and a few battle wounds on me and the bike, everything went well. lol.
Since you got them out what was your reason for removing them. And how does it sound with them out?
I wanted it louder. It sounds louder with it out but a little sloppy. Didnt go for long enough of a ride to really evaluate yet. Might get the BCT monster baffles or I might not if it sounds good and functions right without them
I took mine out and it sounds like garbage so they went back in. Even more of a PITA to get them back in. 1 went in with a little wiggle and the other one eventually got bashed into the ground and pounded back in. Basically those baffles would neve come out haha
I understand wanting it louder lucky for me all my buddies I ride with only have slip ons and my big radius are the envy of all of them and you can hear my bike over all of them.
