i did run an avon venom 90/90 on front with an avon storm rear (170). i've tried a few different combos and so far that was my favorite. right now i'm running metzlers front and rear, but they are pretty new so haven't really been able to put them to the test yet.
thats the avon combo i ran before i went 18" 180 on the back!!
good tyres, felt confident in corners on those tyres

Thanks guys. When I swap tires again, I'll try this combo.
With regard to the front end, I think I mentioned that I'm running Progressive springs, Ricor valves (which require 5 wt oil) and a fork brace. I think if I ever swapped out front ends, I'd go inverted forks. Problem is that I just don't want to keep throwing $$$ at this thing.
Again, thanks for the replies and suggestions. Appreciate it.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but have to say....
I mounted the Avon Storm II Ultra in the rear (radial) and the Venom 90-90/21 (bias) up front. What a huge difference over the Metzler ME880!
I got the tires scrubbed off and then took it out and pushed it hard through some high speed curves, and the difference was just amazing. Not once did I feel the dreaded "frame flex". Love this tire combination, couldn't recommend it enough.
Hi guys, I've just bought an alloy Deuce rear wheel that I plan installing in my Glide! I intend using the Avon Storm 160/70 tyre, but could use a bit of help from anyone riding a Deuce on one right now. What is the fitted width, over the edges of the tyre? I need to see if I can squeeze one in on my bike! Thanks for helping out.
The Xbones comes stock with a radial in back and a bias one in front. So wouldn't worry about that one. The don't mix bias and radial is more for cars than for bikes.
I think the sons new 09 NT was the same way on tires as Ur bones is.
last night i mounted a 180 Michelin on my 2000 Deuce. wanted to try something different than Dunlap. the 180 fit perfect without any modification. my dealer said i'd need a wide tire kit.
