I bought my 2008 Rocker C over the winter and I attended my first bike night that had awards for best stock and custom bikes last night. As I was watching the bikers look over the bikes I noticed my Rocker C getting a lot of looks but there were some jealous streetglide riders there and they were all sitting together and joined forces to vote for one of the streetglides in there group. It was a nice bike, but nothing extraordinary. I found it funny that they spent the most time admiring and commenting on my bike, yet would not vote for it. The great part about this bike night was that the coordinator of the event got on the microphone and invited everyone in the restaurant to come outside and vote on the bikes. This now was a public unbiased opinion as there were more than 50 people that came out and voted. My Rocker won Best Custom Bike and had enough votes to win Best Stock Bike also, but they gave me the award for Best Custom Bike, when the rocker is clearly a Stocker. The looks on the the faces of the bagger guys was priceless as the crowds formed around my Rocker when their bikes were sitting right next to it. They did not like the fact that they couldn't fix the contest with their table of 10 guys. I got no respect from them as I complimented them on there bikes and they simply could not do the same. Just thought I'd share this fulfilling experience.
Ya it's funny how there's so much trash talk about the rocker, yet I get the same response everywhere I go. I've shown mine 4 times and have 5 trophys for my effort. I didn't build it up with the intention of showing it, but people seem to like the rocker platform. Every poker run and bike night I go to it's the same, from the casual observer to the most hardcore bikers. So yes there is proof people like the rocker!
Congratulations on your win also. Expect more of that. Your biggest worry at a show will be how to get that trophy home. Maybe one of those street glide guys can carry it for you. LOL! j/k
Congrats, but I already knew people love the Rocker.
Strangers walk up and say, "Are you taking good care of my bike?"
My buddies keep trying to get me to enter it in a bike show.
