I wipe it down with a quick detailing spray when I get home.
I'm going to get a chrome rear wheel, It will be easier to clean.

The chrome rear is easier to clean... but needs cleaning more often. Everything shows up on it.

I spray it down with Harley Gloss to keep it clean. Give it a good rub with Never-Dull or Mothers Billet Polish. Highly recommend the Mothers, seems to get the dirt out of the porous bits.

Keeping them clean isn't the problem. Just leave it in the garage and don't ride anywhere. No, No, just kidding. The problem is getting them clean and that has been an age old problem for me too. Someone a long time ago told me about Simple Green and I bought some but never actually tried it yet. Now it's put away for the winter and I'll have to wait 'til
spring to see. Good luck.

Sell it or keep it as a spare, and get a chrome wheel.

I use Castrol or Mothers automotive rim/wheel cleaner. spray it on, brush it with a soft wheel brush, spray it off with the hose....looks like new.
I clean the front rim the same way ......I also clean the lower forks with the same wheel cleaner soaked brush......the wheel cleaner wreaks havok on the smashed bugs
