yeah i am thinkin the same as doc, i was thinkin of doing hydraulic tensioners, but if it is still an issue better to go gear drive cams?
my andrews 37 cams are only a year old
I still want to see pics of a newer tensioner that is "worn out". I don't trust dealer mechanics, especially when they don't show me the problem with hard evidence. Nothing personal here, but seeing as I have never ever heard of this happening with the newer style cam plate.
I know people with the same mileage on the newer style plate who have checked it and it looks brand new still. I just put the new style plate and tensioners in my 2002 a few weeks ago and am hoping i won't ever have to mess with it again.
I will stop by the dealer tomorrow morning and see if they still have my old parts.I think that Matt is going to have them as this is the first set he had to replace. If he does I'll take some photos and post them for you. They are close by and It is no problem for me to take a few minutes to do this. I'll post back tomorrow either way.

Here is a photo of the outside tensioner. This is the only part he kept.
That looks like there was some uneaven wear. But it could be just the picture. Im at about 5000mi now, and Im getting some Primary noise. Not too worried about it. But After I do my 5000mi service, Im gonna get the Stealer to take it for a ride, and listen for the whirrs, clicks, and clacking that I hear.
Also the vibrations Im getting at certain RPM's....
So far, I've read all I can in here about the new HYD set up and it seems overwhelming that they do work and are a lot better the the 88's had..???,
When I read that only one of ALL the members in here have a problem or issue with the new set up I dont think its time to send up the flag and cry HOLLLLLY CHIT the sky is falling even though I feel sorry for the one that did fail.
