chap! is it really worth having heart attack bitching about your wheels. Patience is a virtue and will get you further in life than flying off the handle. I am not trying to say rww is a good company, as i have no experience with them, but you do have to give them a chance to make it right. yeah it sucks it is taking a long time but if you speak to them like you are speaking to this forum i would give you the run around too.
Sorry to throw sand in a cut but RWW didnt sell your stock setup before making sure their wheels would fit your bike either.
That said if i change my wheels i am still probably going with Rww cause i like the products they offer and maybe i get good service maybe not but i know i will have what i want.
It was not specified whether it was holiday or work, I made an ASSumption which is always a bad idea, regardless it is what it is. It sucks you have a problem. I understand your situation and it is what it is. In my dealings with various companies that sell wheels, Ride Wright has always been the top of their game if and when an issue has arisen.
I should have been a litigator. I am so sorry you lost, but i don't want people to assume they will all lose. It is always more difficult dealing with customers overseas as opposed to right next door. Normally, I will do my best to get an issue resolved for people regardless of who they purchased from. If you want me to give it a shot let me know.
After reading this entire thread, here is what it seems to me. I think RW dropped the ball and can make it right in one phone call. If they offered to replace the wheels before, does the offer still stand? I would be even more mad if that would have happened to me, just sayin'.
Now here is what I would have done differently and I'm speaking from personal experience. I now order all of my stuff (anything over $150) from Dr. V-Twin! I have spent in the nieghborhood of $3,000+ just in the past 3 months ordering parts through them and this is why; I know that no matter what I order that I'm going to get GREAT service and if I have any issues with a product that they will chase that dog instead of me. They will go to great lengths to make it right for there customer and the price is usually better than ordering direct from the dealer and that includes delivery.
I don't think RW should be defended to the lengths that they have been, I think the customer should be in this case. But I have to say that if I ordered my wheels (and I did just a different brand and style) through Dr. V-twin and had the same problems as the OP, that they would have resolved the issue with the dealer and I woundn't be worried. JMHO
After speaking with RW yesterday I discovered that the owner is out of town on vacation. That is why you are having to wait. Not defending anyone here, just letting you know the facts. When you go on vacation are you taking all the urgent calls too? I don't know about you, but I work very hard and enjoy having a few days without having to work although that rarely happens.
I'll probably have a heart attack before 50 due to my incessant work, but it is what it is. I spoke with RW last night after 6pm as they called me back with an issue I had. Go figure. It must have something to do with being over seas.
Drew
seems to me this company must be rinky dink if they do not have a second in command to make this decision. this just adds to the fact that there customer service sucks. one man show no on else can handle an emergency which this is to chap maybe not to any one else especially at ride wright as far as i am concerned this is crises mode for chap and no vacation should be holding this up some one at ride wright should be able to handle this or the owner should not be going on vacation. this is just another show of how bad there customer service can be absolutely un acceptable. if this guy gets sick or cant operate the company will have to close
I think that Chap is right to be p**sed, he went all the way to America for his wheels, I know he was on Hols anyway but, you would think that RW or anyone else for that matter, who was supplying a part to someone who lives many thousands of miles away, would give him the right part, for him to take them home on on the plane, and to find out they are the wrong ones is unforgivable.
As For Leech's comments, pretty damned harsh I'd say,
If you traded your vehicle for a different one, you wouldnt keep hold of the old one in case of problems ......Comments like that help no-one.
