Brake light will not go out

I was riding this weekend and notice my brake light was stuck on, so I pulled the rear brake light switch wires off and the light still will not go out. IT is on a 04 Heritage. Any ideas?

Check the switch by the lever. They can break and cause the brake light to stay on

I broke my front brake switch once when I was changing the grips out. Easy to do. That caused the light to stay on.

Uhhh...yeah...if you disconnect the rear switch and it stays on, it's the front.
