Just received a new Milwaukee Twins billet headlight from J & P for 07 FXSTC. Has an extra small bulb mounted in the bottom center of the lamp housing. J & P doesn't know what it is or how to wire it??
Anyone seen this setup?

I've seen motorcycle headlights advertised as having "daytime running lights" which is odd because the headlight is always on. I have seen pics of what you're talking about, looks like a flashlight bulb inside the headlight. I just always figured it was this so called "daytime running light".

I have a running light like that on my Fatboy, but I think that it may be only on the international models - so indicated in my service manual as a "position lamp" (HDI only) and used as a fender tip lamp on domestic models that have such a thing. It's not bright enough to be a daytime running light, but perhaps meant to be an emergency light if the main headlight ever goes out.

'position lamp' may indicate its used as a parking lamp. A lot of European cars will have the ability to have either the left or right side parking lamps remain on when parked. It's used when parking on very narrow streets.. Maybe it's along those lines????
