Default Pegs too close...

I just picked up a 1998 FXSTS and the forward control pegs are just too close to the frame. It makes it very uncomfortable to ride. Is there a solution to this? Longer pegs? Mine are 4" long, which seems to be the norm. I see where Kuryakyn has some extensions, but don't know how they will look. here's a link to them http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/435...rrup-Extenders
Anybody ever use these?
Any 5 to 5 1/2" pegs that look good out there?

Default Extended pegs

Springer,

I had the same problem with my Night Train. Had my local machine shop turn out one-piece pegs from stainless steel then painted them with a rattle can. The pegs measure 7.5 inches from the mounting bolt to the end of the peg. Comfort level increased 10 fold. Pegs have never contacted the pavement.

Cruise through ebay. There are a ton of aftermarket pegs out there and many are adjustable.

Can't view those for some reason?

I tried that, they either don't tell you how long they are, or they are the same length (4"). The only "extended" ones I found are not really the style I am looking for. Maybe I can't "have my cake, and eat it too".

You could also get some spacers that will move your forwards out. They mount between the frame and the controls and move everything outward up to 1.5". Do a google search for forward control spacers and several companies will come up. They are in the $60 range. Good luck
