Check out the Windzone kits, cheap and have most items youll ever need on the road. It's always a good idea to have some basic tools on your bike for those unexpected moments, plus you can help out a brother who dosent have anything. I have the economy kit and added some stuff to it, fits in a 3x9 fork bag that I have on the bottom of my downtubes

If you want to make your own, you can get the basic tool roll from Aerostich.

I actually got the basic Harley-Davidson Softail tool kit for my Fat Boy Lo but for everything I've done so far it seems like there's a better allen-wrench or tool from my home toolbox that works or fits better... I think it's a good idea to just save all the tools that work best and start your own kit with those instead.

I use these:

the right one holds pretty much everything I ever need to do any work on my bike - not just quick repairs, I use the same tools to do mods and stuff at home.

The left one is just extra stuff like a cargo net and a power outlet that plugs into my battery tender pigtail.

I carry - 4-way screwdriver:

Allen wrenches for handlebar clamps, transmission, air cleaner cover, oil drain plug, primary drain plug, and detachable windshield clamps.

Sockets - 1/2" deep drive for exhaust, 5/8" for transmission drain plug, and spark plug socket.

Torx bit set.

Ratchet wrenches in 7/16x1/2, 9/16x5/8:

10mm wrench for battery.

zip ties, plastic and metal. extra O-rings for oil drain plugs. Ratchet and extension for sockets and torx bits. Special wrench for my Willie G skull license plate bolts, and a small CRKT KISS knife.

All fits in a bag like this:

Build your own, copy that list of tools from the manufacture of those kits and hit garage sales, get craftsman tools they are everywhere, they are good and they are cheap.

If you have to have it in a fancy roll pick one up at walmart, i did they are under 5 bucks. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Performanc...Pouch/14698403

It's like insurance, hope you never need it, but get it anyway.

This Harley screwdriver even has the torx bits you need, and is made by Snap-On.
