I am having to buy another rear tire for the fatboy lo today. This is my third one and the first tire was the stock Dunlop that lasted around 7500 miles and was replaced the the Metzler 880 and that lasted right at the same milage.

That tire ware sounds normal to me. I only get 6k to 7k miles on the rear and about 10k on the front.
How well did you guys like the road handling of the Metzeler's? Good grip in either the twisties or hard cornering?
Harder compound tires will last longer but they won't grip nearly as well.
