That tire ware sounds normal to me. I only get 6k to 7k miles on the rear and about 10k on the front.

How well did you guys like the road handling of the Metzeler's? Good grip in either the twisties or hard cornering?

Harder compound tires will last longer but they won't grip nearly as well.
