Great here we go with the people saying anyone who goes above 100 is stupid. Then we go into the if you wanted to go fast get a rocket. Can we just not go there this time.
Mine is stock and pulls decent all the way to 110 or 115. Thats when I notice the drop
lol, not go there. but then you tell us how you bust a 100, lol.
Great here we go with people failing to read between the lines. I didn't say that anyone that break's 100 is stupid, having done it on occasion myself.
It just appears that he doesn't like his old lady much running flat out with her on the back.
well, that was far from running flat out.
and most the time i prefer her on her back if i am gonna run flat out on her.
I would love to see what mine would do but with so many smokies in my area I can't take a chance on getting a reckless driving tic. I guess I'm a candyass.
i've only hit approx 95mph on my deluxe without a problem but i barely hit the 1k mark so i haven't really opened her up but have gone 175mph on my CBR1000 . I do have to say though that after 80mph i got a liltle wobble in the front wheel or i'm just use to my Ohlins damper on my CBR. haha
My 88 ci 2003 with a stage 1 intake, quiet 2:1 SupperTrapp and Fuel Moto mapped Power Comander III will blow the doors off of any poorly tuned or stock 96.
Now that being said, these bike are not designed to run (or stop) at 80+ speeds.
A well built and tuned CIVIC will kick my *** and live to tell about it.
Reading these posts makes me wonder if my speedo is off. My sb with se intake and bub pipes the other day pulled hard all the way to a little over 110 and I let off for slow vehicles up ahead. That was in 5th gear. next good road and calm dry weather ill get it in 6th once I hit 110 and see how it pulls.
I have tried to see how fast I can go in 6th and at 90 it feels like it dosent want to, but in 5th its still pullin hard. I guess 6th is intended to strictly be an overdrive cruising gear.
even with my 5speed, at anything under 80, i try to run up to speed in fourth, then when i am where i want to be mph wise, i kick 5th.
seems to pull better, and be smoother, could just be me.
I had my V65 up to 145 mph twice with my ex on the back.
A blow out at that speed won't care how good a rider you think you are.
and it wont care if you are two up or one up, so what is the point?
i run good tires, on my hd, and the best i can get on my sportbike. my tires are not any worry to me at all. a brick laying in the road over the next rise, yeah. thats what being alert is about. and not riding like that except on an open road, that you are familiar with. there are a few roads i could name (which i wont, local riders know the ones) around here, if you are running under a 100 on a weekend, you are getting run over or passed nonstop, one up or two up.
