Hell, I was at a red light one day and some guy in his 60's pulls up in a new SS camaro. He said lets run em. That old bastard kept right with me until about 70 and then left me.
A Honda, a Honda Civic...tell me it ain't so...LOL We trust you did your best!!! LOL I know what you mean though, sometimes I think about doing cams and some basic headwork to get some extra power.
My '07 RKC totally stock motor NO stage 1 (yet) keeps pullin' like hell & I shut her down around 85 & still had a lot left. I ain't got the sack to go much faster anyway.
The "B" counterbalanced motor won't top out like a rubber mount--to much reciprocating mass spinning around in there.
A 4 month old thread resurrected. I wonder if the op SmokeyB put cams in as a winter mod....???
Didnt expect to see this thread pop back up.... But sad to say aint got cams put in yet. Been looking hard into 103 stg 3 or 4 but work has me tied up little to much right now....i know excuses!!

Dont really need a tach.
If U shift at 40, 60, 80, 100 mph, U'll be winding right at 5200 rpms..
shifting at 45,66,90,108 mph and U'll be winding her to 5800rpms
shifting at 5200 will put U right back in the power band rather than winding her out to 5800 on a stock motor when she's falling off fast.
Thanks... good info to know!

If you're going big, don't stop at 103"... take it up to 106" or 107" - same amount of work, same costs, no replacement for displacement. Get a hold of one of the builders (you can see my choice in my sig) and tell them what you want and let them spec it out for you. Mild headwork, cams, 107" big bore, and good pipes and you won't be posting this thread again.

Roger
Then be posting threads about snapping belts, bald tires, and losing licence for speeding and rolling burnouts!!
Seriously..... What kinda gas milage u get with a build like that? I ain't real concerned with mph but don't wanna be filling up every 100 miles.
