At 145+ on a public highway there are potential hazards that there is no way you would have time to react to, no matter how good of rider you believe yourself to be.

At those speeds on a public highway you are nothing but an irresponsible reckless driver and a hazard to the public. Nothing to be bragging and tooting your horn about.
well, lets see, no, considering i had been with that passenger for well over 24 hrs at the time, and neither of us had a drink in that time period, no i can honestly say they were not at the time drinking. had they been in the 24 hrs before that, who knows and why would it matter?
no, it was on an open hwy, sorry no closed courses around here to do it on. thats what we got those nice long stretches of open road for here in Texas.
lets see, hwy i travel regularly, no cross streets or driveways for a good solid 3 mile or more stretch, big wide bar ditches on both sides, no oncoming traffic (its across a bar ditch prolly 50yards or more away). the tree line is a good 50 yards on the other side of the ditch. and completely deserted at the time.
hazard to the public, not in any way.
i been called way worse than irresponsible.
reckless driver, not even close. I was in complete control at all times.
tooting my own horn, nope, not here.
the question was asked about 90mph+, and i answered honestly.
I didnt start a thread saying hey i just cruised down the highway with joe bob inbreds daughter on the back at a buck twenty five.
I gotta go, time for a new thread.
LOL!

this is just stupid no matter what, honestly man you make yourself sound like the biggest jackass right here...don't be such a D-bag.

Go ahead and flame me back....whatever...but i have a daughter and I would LOVE to meet you and just kick your teeth in for treating ANY female like that...it's called having respect for the females and being a man....your statement shows you have neither. Kill yourself if you want...but leave the girls behind for the other guys to enjoy.

Good thing you guys never pulled up next to a mildly modded VW
They tried to talk me into trying the 259's in my 96 but I checked a few websites and the 204's were making better power. You can use them in the 103 motors with the proper tune and they make good power there also. Just have to watch the compression.

It pulls hard to 5500 so that's were I set my shift light on my tach. It won't lift the front tire off the ground but it will stretch the front suspension in 1st thru 3rd if you shift on the light.

And yeah I watched a hot rod VW spank a 67 Chevelle in high school. That VW would pull wheelies.

well, your opinion is that, and just like a-holes everyone has one.
jus tbecause i am willing to admit to doing stuff. dosnt mean plenty of others havent.
as for meeting me, seeing as you live in chicago it seems, that aint gona happen, i got no use for that town or that state. respect for the females? seriously? it wasnt only my choice to do it! all my passengers know when they get on, ANY TIME they are not comfortable with a speed, all they gotta do it tap my right leg, and we slow down. i make that clear to everyone. i dont care if i am already going 10 under, we will slow down. i have a friend that ust is not comfy going over 60, and so we dont.
any time you want to drive to Texas, feel free, come on down, put your boots on and nut up and give it a dhot to kick my teeth in. good luck with that. LOL!
as for flaming you? dont feel i have done that to anyone on this thread. plenty have me, including you mister internet badass, for admitting what alot of people do every day. i have read all the 'i'll kick your teeth in' i'll whip your *** if it was my daughter, yada yada yada. and never have i said anything about whip[pin anyone.
and still none of this has to do with the OP question. which was why would his bike not pull past 90, which my simple reply was, it should, mine does even two up. wow.
some of you should get a life, and a job. give you somehting to do other than watch soaps all day and be in everybodies business. some of us dont need it, and dont need to be pretected from ourselves, unlike a few of the posters on this thread. LOL!

Seems like more often than not, the OP will make a statement that brings out all the holyier-than-thou crowd. Maybe we can just have the nanny state bring all speed limits down to 35 (some will complain it to fast) or just outlaw bikes all together.

To the original question, like someone said, check the throttle cables for proper adjustment.

75 or 105, you get in a wreck, the odds are it's not going to be pretty.

It's the japasses running on populated roads with disposable bikes at ridiculous speeds, stoppies in traffic, wheelies at 100 etc. that give the biking community a bad name as well as endanger others. Every time some jackass kills himself on a crotch rocket it makes the world a little bit safer and a little bit saner.

Many of us older riders have pulled a few stupid stunts and lived to tell about it, including myself, but we didn't make it a daily ambition or public road stunt club.

Having said all that, it is not unsafe if you know what you're doing to cruise at 80 (or even 90 long stretches of interstate relatively moderate to light traffic) on the open highways, no more dangerous than 70 under the right circumstances. It's common sense and knowing your limitations.

If you want to race or show off there are plenty of drag strips or closed events you can sign up for.
