4900 miles since August. Runnin' sweet. BelRay & Syn 3 at the 1000 mile service takes care of any noise or clunk shifting. Don't know what's "new" about stroking an engine. Stroke an 88, ya get a 96. Bore and 88, ya get a 95.
12,000 on the 07 RoadGlide today the only problem I am haveing is getting better weather to ride in.
Someone is jerking your chain there is nothing wrong with 07 HD.
They run a bit hotter due to EPA regs but it is no big deal.
Trye 100% sny oil helps that some and not reving the engine when at idle go along way to keeping heat down.
I'm taking my softee in for it's 7500 mi. service this week. I'm on my second rear tire, and still haven't had any problems at all. I bought this bike back in mid July last year. It ran hot when I first purchased it stock. After the stage I was installed, the temp dropped about 20 degrees. I love my bike more than words can say! I need to take new pics with all the new mods I've done over the winter. I put the 422 progressive shocks on her and lowered the @ss end about 2 inches. WoW! what a difference. New tri-bar LED tail light, and tons of chrome. I've spent about 4G's over the last month. I'm coming up on that $30G mark pretty quick. Now that the temps are in the 60-70 degree range...I'm loving life. Ride safe, and often!
The clutch cable is stretching, and the clutch needs to be adjusted. Once they do that at your 1k service, you should be ok.
As fas as lugging is concerned, as the bike breaks in, and loosens up, you will be able to shift gears earlier. Fact is things are still a little tight in there. Once it lossens up a bit, you can run lower rpms, and shift earlier than you normally would.Thing is, you have to listen to your engine, and judge by feel. Don't be afraid to wind it out a little. If it feels sluggish, shift later rather than sooner. And get it up on the highway to blow the cobwebs out of it, and do some real miles. It'll run worlds better.
