My 04 Heritage injected scoot does this to a degree. When I stop when hot, and go to restart (any start for that matter) I always wait for the ecu to finish it's preride checklist, then give it a second or two before I turn it over. Still cranks a time of 2 more than a cool start, but better!~

One trick I learned on my last bike was to press start before the fuel pump pressures up. For me it makes a huge difference. I've heard theories that the reason it doesn't start easy when hot is because there is possibly unburnt fuel in the combustion chamber, then when you let the pump pressure up you are essentially flooding your motor. I'm not sure if this is true or not.

glad to see it's not just mine... my fatboy has always been hard to start when hot... I agree with the above post, it seems to do better if you hit the starter before the fuel pump builds up pressure...

This solved it for me too. I hit the start button right after I turn on the ignition switch.

Johnny C nailed it! Took to my local service shop (it needed regular service anyway)--he replaced the plugs, starts like a champ now!

Thanks for all of the help/suggestions....by the way, if you are in Central Florida Area, check out Vengeance Cycles in Tavares...They do an excellent job!

Hope you find a solution... Hope I find a solution, too!!!
Have same problem, starts great when cold, after hot will crank but will not, HD put in new Crank Postion sensor and it worked for 2 days, now it back again. Back to HD (estended warranty) Good luck
