I have checked the fuel line and all seams to be in order. I have read up on checking codes and have what I beleive to be no codes. The one thing I noticed is that my speedo does not wrap around like they say it should. It acts like it wants to but it does not go around, not sure if that is an issure or not. I can go through all 10 codes and get a CL and then I get a PPU and 80034 not sure what that is. Any ideas....Thanks
Thanks, I've had the tank off and the fuel pump out. I'm going to a new shop Wed. to see what they say. I'm not sure on the codes, I guess I';; see what they say.
Vince, thanks for the reply, when you had your problem did it act like it was running out of gas? Mine would idle but would not take the gas. The frist time this happened I did not let it set but contunined to try to get to the next town. I finally did by running about 35 mph in 5th gear. After letting it set at a yamaha dealer for about 30 min. it started right up and ran fine for about 250 miles before it happened again, which was about 2 wks. later. Thanks Bob
Mine would run fine during a long ride of a few hundred miles and then bike would stutter and cut out on me as I came to a stop and disengaged the clutch. Sometimes it would restart immediately and other times I had to wait for about 20-30 minutes before it would restart. Sometimes when restarting, I'd put it in gear and the bike didn't want to go and would cut off immediately after twisting the throttle. The problem got progressively worse where I'd ride just a few miles it would start running rough and cutoff on me as I came to a stop and disengaged the clutch. No codes were generated so the three different dealers I took the bike to and I were completely stumped as the issue was intermittent and there didn't seem to be anything in common with the times the issue would crop up. I found some information I believe was on this forum stating that the engine temperature sensor would not generate a trouble code if it was failing. I think the sensor cost around $40.00. I did some additional research before writing this and it looks like the engine temp sensor will generate trouble codes but only if the voltage is too high or too low. I feel your pain and wish you well getting it fixed. I screwed around with mine for about a month before I stumbled on to the info about the engine temp sensor. I was tired of chasing my tail and had the dealer replace it for me as it seemed a logical guess. I, as well as the tech was surprised that it solved the problem. Good luck.
