I wonder how long it took for the MoCo and other companies after they saw guys making their own bits and pieces for bikes in the 50s to realise there was a lotta lotta money to be made out of mods.

Anyways, I am curious what I have and still going through is normal when it comes to evolving one's bike? I sure the hell hope so or call me mad! How many of ya went through the same madness?

I think it is just you going crazy on mods. I have done very little to my RG.

I have come to the conclusion that Bikes and Boats are like 1/1 Scale Models for guys that didn't have enough toys when they were growing up....Like many of us have grown up

Last winter it was $4000 into the engine, T/S and what not on my 06 SB. Then another 2000 on bags, apes T/S Run/ Stop mod and what not on my FB.

This year both are going back to the shop for even more mods. SB is getting a set of LA Choppers 12 inch Nice Curves and new bags.

FB is going in at the same time for 8.5 inch Chrome Cowbells and Fish Tail mufflers.

One boat is undergoing a complete makeover.....New paint, complete custom interior.

Sure was cheaper when I was doing 1/32 scale models but just not as much fun.

Without Mods what would the real meaning or purpose of life....sorta boring if ya ask me.

Besides, without Mod's who would be buying up all the Chrome, paying Powder Coater's wages, Custom Painters would cease to exist, HD tech's would fade out, dealerships vanish....Life in General would start to dwindle and soon die off completely after a few Mod-less years.

Oh the Madness, the Insanity would cause Chaos and Rioting in the streets. Martial Law would come about and the Gov't would mandate we all had to buy a Generic one size fits all Electric Honda

It's really not bad, I've only went from receiving my $16.50 lower bolts yesterday (Saturday), taking my shocks off last night, only to wake up this morning and order a damn Shotgun system tonight! bawaaawwaaa Yep, it's bad! (Anyone interested in some lowering bolts hit me up.) The chrome sliders will be in this week and I figure screw it, I may as well order the Cholos this week too!

I had a plan for my mods and finally had to create a folder for each section of the bike in my favorites so I could keep up with the hundreds of links I've bookmarked. This weekend I've completely torched my plan! lol

My wife thinks I'm insane because she thinks my bike is beautiful just stock. But she knows like with anything else I get into, it's all or nothing. Roll'em!

That 'Calling all...' thread is a real b1tch...

My wife stopped by the garage the other day to find my bike missing the top end of the engine and the look on her face was interesting.

Her response: "Why didn't you just build it from scratch? Seems like it would have been simpler."
