Default 08 Fat Boy Forward controls w - 21" front wheel

Hi Forum,

I'm 6'4 and I'm looking for a ways to get more leg room. I've got an 08 fatboy and have read here that if I get an 06 kickstand I should be able to switch out my floorboards for a 3" extended forward control kit.

I've also read that kit barely misses the front fender. I also have 21" wheels with the Klockwerks benchmark front fender for 21" wheels. Is a 3" extension kit going to hit the fender? What other options do I have?

Thanks,

if it hits, you can always rake the front end

I have an 2010 Fatboy Lo, with the forwards and 3" extensions... no problems, but have a stock wheel.

Not sure about that "change the kickstand" issue, I didn't change mine.

You could run the standard forward controls and a seat that moves your butt back an extra inch or two to make up the difference. Would take the worry away about the distance from the fender to your foot controls.

Well, I think I'm going to go for the C&C solo with backrest. I've read lots of places that should put me around 2" back and down some as well while still being reasonably comfortable.

That said, I'd really like to be able to stretch out. While casually doing some research on raking the front end, I did find a +4 degree rake for fatboys at a reasonable price at;

http://www.seegercycle.com/Fatboy-He...ple-trees.aspx

After looking at it, I'm now seriously considering. I hadn't originally planned on raking because I'm not a very experienced rider, only about 1 year total and that was 8 years ago before I got married and wider. And what little I do know about chopping is that the longer the rake the harder it is to control.

However, with only 4 degrees over stock, I think I could probably get away with it.

does anyone have any experience with this kit? Are they quality?

I am no chopper expert, but there have been a handful of other threads on here about rake. From what I have gathered, trail is the other component to rake. If I understand correctly, the trail measurement is what dictates handling of the front-end, so if you keep that ratio correct you will be a happy guy.

Hit me up for all C&C stuff at a discount. I run their solo on my ride and find that it is much more comfort able and allows for extra room to stretch out although I am not even 6'.
