My black 2005 Deuce has pinstriping from the factory. Looks like either a gold or silver muted by the clearcoat so its hard to tell. Is this paint or vinyl and what is the color match or where can I find it?

 

it is probably vinyl, under the clear coat. I pinstripe. Finding a perfect match is going to be tough in paint. What are you trying to do? If it is a repair, you may be better off getting a striper to simply cover all of it. Then you can either go with a color close or change it up all together. A friend of mine has an Ultra Classic. It had a silver stripe on the fairing, tank, side covers, and bags. He wanted it orange. I knocked it out in under 30 minutes with set up and clean up. Shouldn't cost a lot.

 

Thanks. I not a fan of straight line stripes but I do like the old school
pin stripe design work. Really shows an artists' talent and imagination.

I went to the dealer to get some pinstripe that matched and they said its painted on by a machine, they only sell touch up bottles of pinstripe.

 

it is and thanks.....its an old tank I have that I goof off on, clean it off with mineral spirits before it dries and hit it again.

 

Hey, get you some pinstripes done in exactly the same color as the tank color. Make all your friends jealous. Stand out in a crowd.

 

I was wondering if I could just put a different color of pinstripe over the factory color only use the sticker stuff instead of actual paint, should work huh?

My black deluxe has silver/grey pinstripe painted on under the clear coat from factory and Im adding some 97 springer bags with the dark red piping on them and was trying to think how to tie the bike together, thinking of dark red pinstrip.

 

Don't know if its Gold or Silver... Phew,, it must be fudged up....

I'd be talking to my dealer to see which one it is...
