So one of my good friends has an 07 Softail Deluxe that he has got great engine mods in - 103" Screamin' Eagle, cams, SERT etc.. and he's a great rider but he's got 28 inch inseam and short arms too. Now he's looking at doing some comfort upgrades.
He is looking for some bars that "come back to him" as opposed for him having to lean forward and reach to them.
I've done some searches on here and the closest I can come to what might work for him are either Heritage Bars, or Mini-apes. But I'm not sure what size mini-apes?
I've got Wild One Chubby 0575s on my EGC and I love those. You guys got any suggestions for my riding buddy?
Thanks, I'm sure this thread has been around a few times before, but my searches have only gotten what I typed in above.
burly beach bars on mine, pullback is great. Im 5'8 with short armsl and the width is absolutely no problem. Best upgrade ive done and they look bitchen. If he does these, he can use a stock clutch cable and +2 on the right side cables/hose. You can see the rear view in my signature pic.
I also found the Burly's to be very comfortable. IMO your arms hang in a more natural position which was important for me because of an old injury. At first I believe they do take a little getting used to (at least they did for me) and when in full lock, they do come back to the leg. I think you'd only find yourself in this situation when parking the bike, which isn't a big deal - you just move your leg out of the way. lol

Heritage bars have about the least pullback of all the bars (3" I believe). He'd hate them. I went with these and love them:

I have a 30" inseam and pretty short arms. My shoulders are really screwed up so I went with some buck horn bars with 3" pull back risers. I like them a lot. See sig pic.
He's looking to not have to reach out to the bars and as we were walking around the Harley shop locally he was looking at the Heritage on the floor, right beside the Deluxe. Which got him in the mini-ape look.
