Default Fat boy shock

I have a Fat Boy Lo with a stated ground clearance of 4.8". I need 5" to get on the Auto Train. The Fat Boy standard has a clearance of 5.1". Is the only difference the rear shock?

My 2005 SE Fat Boy, should be setup similar to your Fat Boy Lo, since it also came from the factory, lowered approximately an inch, in the rear, because of the difference in the length of the shocks versus the standard Fat Boy
The shocks come set from the factory at the softest setting. If you set them to the firmest setting it will raise the rear approximately 5/8". This should be enough to have it pass the minimum 5" clearance.
Good luck,
Tom

It's my understanding that the difference is the length of the bolts used in the rear shocks. Probably, one of the best things and easiest things would be to mount some Shotgun Shocks. That way you could just add some air to the shocks and raise the rear when needed and slam it down when you want to. If I recall correctly, there is 4" inches of travel. I can write that at full height, my Lo sits way too high for me.

Shotgun is not in the budget right now. I will probably only ever need to do this once.

over inflate the tires and see if that'll get it up high enough, then drop them back down..
