Does anyone notice some noise when they get new tires. Just put the Pirelli Nightdragons on my deuce and the tires I had before were basically bald so they made no noise. I dont know if they will break in and stop or what. Not rubbing anywhere, so just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
Holly crap, in the 48 yrs I've been riding I can't ever remember having a motorcycle tire that was noisy on any of all the different bikes I've ridden.
IMO the brand shouldn't make that much a diff unless it was a nobby dirt tire.
gotta question.. was the tire put on the rim correctly ? i guess its possible for the tire to make noise if its rotating against the designed direction.
I know what you mean. I've got tire noise and it's driving me nuts.
At first I thought it might be the belt, so I loosened the adjusters half a turn.
Then loosened axle nut to 40 ft lb. (someone here said tight axle nut can cause noise)
Anyhow, take it up to 60 mph, pull in the clutch and shut off the engine, and the noise is incredibly loud. Ride on the center line and the noise lessens.
I've got a new 200/55R 17 Dunlop American Elite. Now after 2 thousand miles on it, I'm ready to get rid of it and try something else. Terrible tire!
