Don't know about painting but I had some on my Fatboy seat skirt........they were a bi$%^h to get off. There is a speed nut on the back side and mine just would not come apart.

thanks oct1949 for the info.i seen the mustang ones on J&P site ,that would cost 100 bucks to do both bags ,the top studs on my lids i will have to paint because i got the saggy liner glued on, so probably paint the top by hand and pop the rest off ,stick them in a piece of foam insulation and spray paint those, gloss black i think would look better then vivid black ,

Did you paint yours? If so can you post pics please.
Thanks!

Since this 9 month old thread has been resurrected, wouldn't it be easier to replace the studs than to paint each and every one of them? The result would likely be more consistent. To change all the studs would seem labor intensive but no moreso than painting each and every one of them.

I briefly searched the internet and found the following link for studs. Very inexpensive. $8 for 100 studs and $38 for 500 studs.

http://studsandspikes.com/buy/studs-...s-c-57_23.html

Good luck.
