I ve wondered the same thing there must be something different ,,, icould really handle them a little less shinny, something to dull them up.. i thought about some acid , but thats maybe to harsh. if you come up with something ill be watching. if i come up with something ill post it ..........
Just asked the same thing a few days ago. I'm thinking of painting them gloss or matte black. Gloss black you'd still see them but it would go with the bike better (Night Train). If I don't sell the bags soon I'm going to go ahead and paint them. I'll post pics after I do.
Someone just asked this question....forget where. My uncle with Road King scuffed his with emery cloth, then handpainted with enamel (I think) black. Took forever, but looked great. I like shiny chrome personally, but to each their own....good luck.
i am going to go with different scheme ,got fat daddy big spokes on front with black rim and SS spokes ,and want to go more the black and chrome look, got rid of my studed fender and tank bib also, going with weave and black ,keep ideas coming thanks so far
I just replaced every stud on my bags. I ordered 200 of them for 20 bucks. Plenty for both bags . Took about an hour and half per bag. I left mine chrome but it would have been easy to lay them out and spray em before i installed them. Sounds like a neat idea.
