Default Something's not right- Night train

I have a 2001 fuel injected night train and something WAS leaking. I just filled up with gas and was sitting at a stop light on my way home, when i went to take off i felt my rear slide and when i looked back i saw a little puddle at the stop light. I thought it must have been someone's AC water from a car and went on. The next time i stopped the same thing happened so a little down the road i stopped got off and looked and nothing seemed to be spraying from anywhere and all underneath the bike looked clean. I got on and took it easy the rest of the way home but as i was riding down my street i saw a line of somekind of fluid behind me. When i parked at my house i let the bike idle and looked under it and still no signs of any fluid leaking. I checked the oil and that seems to be full. Is there some sort of gas run off under the bike if i filled it to the top of the tank? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated, this is my first bike and not the way i wanted to start off this season

The vent tube for the gas tank is right in front of the rear wheel. In some circumstances (usually when it's really hot) when a bike is overfilled it will dump the gas out of the vent tube. One of my bieks used to do this when filled all the way to the top in extremely hot weather (think Vegas in August). My guess it what is what it was. Try filling your bike so there is still a bit of room in the top of tank and check that your vent tube is not clogged.

definitely the vent tube. I just started it and its pouring out right there. The only thing is its only 57 degrees here so i really dont get why its doing that. I put an aftermarket a/c on it and havent tuned it yet. I just took that off and put the stock one back on and its still pouring out there. something else perhaps?

Gas vent tube in front of the rear tire ? Seems like that could be a liability issue for Harley when somebody drops their bike because of the lack of traction. Dah !!

I will say that it is pretty slippery riding with a tire covered in gas. Im literally dumb founded looking at where they placed this thing. Must of had a few too many cold ones in the design room

Or you put on the wrong gas cap (a custom one) that is not letting the tank vent air? The HD's have a built in transfer system from the tank to the vent tube I believe... not sure on this one, but could be something to look at.

Did you look at the fluid to see what it was? Easy to tell the difference between oil and gas...
