Sock off in winter, on in summer. It probably does not make a difference... but richer is cooler with engine temps and it may be a tick richer with the sock on.

thinking if U oil it right water won't be a real issue..

I just cut my football down to round and bought a sock this past winter...

only time I plan on using it is in heavy rain....
