Fitting Touring Wheels to Heritage Softail . . . Can it be done without modifications
I did this tube to tubeless conversion on my new heritage 114. works like a charm.........the materials list is at the end of the video. bought the 3m paste tube on amazon, the 3m tape on ebay. I'll do my front rim next. btw, allow a couple of days for paste to set before wrapping with tape.

I actually just tried this tonight. I have a 2000 fatboy and mounted a 2001 Roadking spoked wheel. I removed the right side rotor and mounted the block off plate from the fatboy wheel. I cheaped out and bought bearing adapters to go from the 3/4" axle to the 1" bearings. I reused the factory spacers from the fatboy. The bolts on the right side on the wheel where I mounted the block off plate are really close to the fork tube so I'm going to remove that. And the tire seems extremely close to the fender on the right side. Not sure if the stock tire was that close or not honestly dont remeber. I am going to pick up the bearings and change them to the 3/4" bearings which will gain a hair of clearance.
I too wanted tubeless wheels on my '06 Deluxe. I bought a set of "take-offs" from a forum member who changed wheels on his 2015, and was selling off the stock "Smoothie Spoke" wheels which were tubeless.
In my case it was NOT a direct swap, as the axle size as well as the hub width on the rear is different. I got 'er done though with some custom machine work and some custom bearing bushings.
So the deal is, just about anything is possible. It's just work and money. Your best bet would be to get wheels from the same year (or close to it) bike, that has the same bearing and hub widths as your bike.
