LOL sofmech I like that, "just get use to them scrapping."
With my shotgun it has become second nature for me in the short time (800 miles) I've run the setup to instinctively reach now and hit the switch to raise up for clearance when I'm turning on an incline or decline. It's not that bad and can be avoided all together if you pay attention.
And besides, now with Samson offering the innovative removalble fishtail on the new pipes who cares if you scrape the chit out of'em?
I scrape once in a while and when I do, I just twist the throttle open and gringe. LOL
Oh yeah, you also have to get used to people starring and asking you all the time if your pipes scrape. I get that question all the time. They sound great, look great and are a nice choice to make.
Like NC'D said, the first time I let off the throttle to up shift, she growled at me. It sounds so freakin awesome!!! I was hooked for sure. And the compliments I get are from everyone, everywhere I go. People love the pipes!!! Definitely make a statement!
As far as performance, I know a 2-1 is the way to go but to tell you the truth, I dont feel any real noticeable drop off from my VnH BRs 2-2s. I do have the performance baffled pipes from Python. And I have done a mess-load of internals!
The baffled are still loud as hell! But not as crackley as the non-baffled!! The nons are just plain BADASS!! Now I'm not familiar with the Samson setup, but I went with Pythons because they crush the head pipe a little. That creates a little more back pressure which equaled a little more in performance. On the Dyno I actually noticed a step up in torque in the low range and then a drop off after 5000 rpms vs my VnHBRs 2-2s. I feel good bite at launch! And Python too has the removable tips so I don't mind scraping a little.
Dude, are you gonna keep your solid wheels with those cholos? I was messing with the idea of putting cholos on my bike, but I just don't know if they'd look right with anything but spoked wheels. I've just never seen 'em with anything but spokes.
When's your bike gonna be done anyway??? The anticipation is killing me, bro...
I work out of town 90% bud. I am back next Friday for a week...that's when they know tins need to be done. Hopefully, pipes are in for the last dyno...then it's time to bring her home and wrench the rest of the mods myself.
Concerning solid wheels...ya man I am thinking black sinisters for next winter projects. I really don't want to get rid of the signature solids, but if the spokes help battle the afternoon gusts I maybe able to avoid the wimpshield.
