A bike's complicated enough without introducing another factor when you're shifting. My bike came without the heal lever and I would have tossed it either way. That seems like an answer to a question nobody asked.

I took mine off after the end of my jeans got wrapped around the heel shifter three times in a row between 3 traffic lights.. pulled over on the side of the road, borrowed an allen wrench from my buddy and took it off right then and there.. it's an acquired tasted.

I thought it was fun at first, but found I prefer to just toe shift so I took mine off. I also like to ride with just the ***** of my feet at the ends of the boards when I feel like sitting more upright. Taking it off gives you more real estate for the feets.

Coming from 20 years of sportbike riding, you'd figure I wouldn't like the heel shifter. I tried goin with just the toe shifter to clear the clutter but I missed the heel shifter! I love mashing on that heel shift and torquing that throttle. For me, it feels like I get the power to the ground quicker!!!

i like the heel shifter. i use it all the time. after a while it becomes second nature. i also like the fact that the top of my left shoe stays clean now.

When I use to have them back on my Crossbones with floor board I loved em, now with my blakline I do tend to miss it. If I was to swap out my pegs to floor boards they are a must have for me.

I kept my heel shift on for a year. I tried, but never could get used to it, and finally took it off. Got a slightly extended toe-shift lever, that's just the perfect length for me. Lots of room on the floorboard now. Couldn't be happier!

I know they make an aftermarket part for the heel shifter, so that when you aren't using it, it foldsbackwards so that it's like it isn't even there. Then, when you want to stomp through the gears, or want to play around and try to get used to it, it folds back out.

I am not positive, but I think you can get it right through harley.
