Default Toe Heel shifter

Just got my first Harley. Softail Fat Boy 96 cu in.
This not only is my first Harley but it is the first time Iv'e had anything to do with a toe heel shifter.

Is it better, and how long does it take to get used to it?
Stalled the bike in the lane way cause I hit the shifter accidently at low speed.
Damn near dropped the bike
It weighs 7 times more than I do

Are these shifters better or is it just preference ?
Be safe be alert

It's just preference. I did not use mine (the heel shifter) at all when I first got it, but after about 2 months, I noticed that I was using it all the time.

I still haven't used or gotten use to the heel shifter even being there. Agree, it's just personal preference I know many remove it because it can free up room on the floorboard etc.

At first I did not care for it at all until I changed them a bit by lowering the heel shifter as low as I could get it. Now I love using it and it is second nature.

I never got use to mine. It seemed like my heel was always against it, so I took it off.

Easy to take off, easy to put back on later. I like the look but I dont use my heel shift much unless im in a pissy mood and just want to stomp on something while im wringing it out

use mine all the time and love them. I lower both mine as much as I could. I couldn't imagine going back to just a single shifter.

I took mine off as soon as I got home from the dealership.. I kept kicking it with my heel every time I put my left foot on the board..

Default Re toe heal

That is my problem, I'm used to the toe only and I keep hitting the thing with my heel. There doesn't seem to be enough room for comfort between the toe and heel. So off she goes.
Like ya say I can always put it back on later if the need arises.
Also finding neutral is better with using just the toe IMO.

A friend has a RK and he is always hitting the heel when not wanted, but he leaves it on?
Thanks for the info and input
Regards
