Default Deuce upper triple tree. Replace or redip??

I'm finally "done" spending tons of money on the deuce. My next winter project will be to fix my chrome upper triple tree which has some flaking chrome on it. It was like that when I bought it and I kind of ignored it for 3 years and spent tons on money on other stuff like wheels, pipes, stage 1 etc. do you think it will be cheaper to replace it with a new one from Harley or get it redipped? I have no idea how much it is to get thins chromed or how much a new triple tree costs...

Thanks or your input!!

Also is removing the upper one real difficult? Other than unhooking some lines?

From what I see and read the only way U could come even close to spending TON's of money on Ur bike is to have paid in Penny's.

Tons being plural means more than one ton and I just don't see over $7K or more that U've spent in mods on UR bike.

Now I have no Idea what the after market has to offer, U'll just have to look.

Also I have no Idea what cause the chrome to peel, IMO someone or something either dinged the chrome somehow to start it rusting underneath so I wouldn't be afraid to just get a new HD one.

I've never had any thing I've got from harley to rust or chip, There chrome has been of the Up most quality on every piece that either came on the bike or I've bought off the wall and every part I've bought has fit Perfect and I've spent almost two tons of penny's on mine. Almost 1 ton of penny's just on the motor mods the other ton in add ons and leather work

Thanks. And u are spelling some things wrong such as U and U've.

Anyway.

I would want the hd version to match perfectly or rechrome. Is there a website that sells the original hd versions? Can I find it on hds website?

Didn't find one in the book as I just looked for you.
Maybe best to just call the parts dept.

Thanks! I will have to price it comparing to rechroming. I have never had anything chromed so I have no clue on how Much that would cost

Your probably looking at about 75 bucks to get rechromed. You can usually find them on ebay for around 35 bucks.

Check out Chromemasters, your looking at about $80 to $100 bills.... check out your local planting shops too.

Have ya thought about sandblasting it and powdercoating it gloss black to match your paint? Im guessing it would be cheaper and look sweet!

Good suggestion. Actually thought of that for my flaking Harley mirrors. But I like the black and chrome contrast I got going on right now
