Not sure about the 1" padding for DOT thing.....it also has to do with the strap strength too. Like I said I just ordered a Outlaw polo dot. Claims it has 1/2" foam.....it will be here next week.
I think if the outlaw shows up and is a shroom on my head I will order a skull crush polo. Even though they are not DOT (not needed in MN). I just wanted DOT for the extra strength. But those helmets look bullet proof literally they are made out of Kevlar! They also have memory foam liners and quick disconnect military spec buckles! Little spendy but would last a life time.
