I have a 2011 blackline. I've read a few post for solo seats on the black line and there a little dated now. looking for a good solo seat that fits like stock. i recently tryed the slim solo and sent it back to HD. ( uncomfortable and moved me forward a couple inches) is any one else having luck with a solo.
I'm in the same boat as you. Glad I didn't get the slim seat. Corbin makes a solo as does Danny Gray. I've had Corbin before and they are way better than stock but expensive $$. Don't know about the Danny Gray. I want to try the spring solo HD makes but I don't know how well it will do on a long a$$ ride (1000 miles +).
Here are some pics of the Danny Gray solo seat on my blackline. I got it with the gel option - had it out for a couple rides and I really like it. It is firm but comfortable IMO.

No - it probably sits a little lower on the bike than stock but you don't sink into it like the stock seat which I think is way to soft. I'd say it is close to stock position - I thought maybe a touch closer than stock at first; but don't think that any more - I swapped the stock seat back to compare and they are real close. It may have just needed to break in a bit. . I'm 6'-2"l - I had the Sundowner seat mounted on it for two up and found that too close for me and don't have that issue with my Danny Gray. I'm installing forward control extension this weekend for a little more stretch; but, this had nothing to do with the seat choice.
On a previous bike I ordered a Corbin seat that they custom cut to give more reach. They did a nice job on that and they make a great seat. The Danny Gray was more the look I was after with the simple low profile and the gap between the seat and the talk. Don't know why I like that but I do. Probably goes back to an old Sporty I had. The Corbin solo looks more padded and maybe a better touring option. That said, no regrets on the Danny Gray for comfort. For the down on frame design, I think it is as comfortable as you are going to get. Feels very firm when you sit down on it; but seems to hold up well. Stock seat gave be a pretty good burn after about 45mins. I rode about an hour the other day on this with no complaints.
Not sure if you're into a saddle seat, but mine is a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be.
GNORMOUS.......I really like your tail lights. I hate the stock lights! Where did you get yours? Are they direct bolt on?
Thanks jayzee75. That spring saddle and pipe are a great combination on the blackline. My rear lights are Kuryakyn Part # 2502 (Red LED Strut mount mini bullet lights). Not plug and play; but, not that bad of a mod with basic shop skills. I put a write up on the forum here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...blackline.html
I've been running this setup for over a month with no issues and very happy with how it turned out.
