Cheers Mark, did it that way with a GSXR once & it leaked like a sieve but if yours is ok, I'll give it a go.
Done as Mark said, one at a time. Think I'm nearing 2,000 miles since I finished the build and no leaks. I just followed the sequence for some of the parts per the manual.
24v - back during my searching I don't remember seeing any black bolts.
Some new little goodies came in today for the Lux. A show polished stainless bolt and washer set for engine covers. Some people are happy with the chrome plastic caps but I prefer the real deal. Anyone ever consider purchasing any polished bolts I have had great luck with this and past purchases from Rick at cyclebolts. He has a store on Ebay with great prices. This set here was only $99.00 If anyone is wondering what the difference is between polished and show polished, the show polished have all of the knurls removed from the bolt heads so they are smooth.
Sweet! SS is the way to go IMO. No rust! did I mention I hate rust on my scoot? I went with the 12 point Show Polished SS on my bike. I got mine from Dan at Topline Fasteners. I found them on ebay and they were kind of in start up mode. At the time they were cheaper than anyone I had found, not sure about now? They have since got a website. http://www.toplinefasteners.com/
Anyway, the show polish looks like chrome! You're gonna love it!
Looks like chrome to me. The small amount of black funk you see in the head is usually polishing residue. I usually give it a squirt of B12 carb cleaner and it's gone.

Thanks for the pics, been thinking about doing the same almost since I got the bike and found a couple of places that sell them.
Just never had enough spare change to do them all, but one group at a time might be a good way to go.
