Default Blackline Lowering Bolts

Guys - Who has actually gone the less expensive route and installed these FXS Adjustable Lowering Kit Bolts $16 on eBay ?

I'm curious to hear feedback from some that has done this on a BlackLine FXS, not a Fatboy or other Softail model. How hard was the install, home garage do-able, whats the ride like, etc.

Thanks - Will

Why do you want to just hear from Blackline owners. All newer Softail frames are the same and the install is the same. Just curious.

I've read a couple of threads where guys have said the lowering bolts did not work on the Blackline, that it was already as low as possible, etc. Maybe fiction...

Just to clarify something, or at least give my opinion. The people that say it can't be lowered have their heads up their asses. I say go ahead and spend the $16.00 on the bolts and then do the following. With the bike upright, measure from the center of the axle straight up to the bottom of the fender strut. Now jack the bike up and remove the shocks. With the shocks removed lower the bike down until it stops. Now measure from the center of the axle straight up to the bottom of the fender strut. The difference in the measurement is how much travel is left in the swingarm. Now, don't misunderstand me here, you don't want to actually ride around on the stops unless you like a rough ride so you don't want to lower it that much. It was to just give you an idea of how much lower you can go. Now since you have the shocks out go ahead and install the lowering bolts and bolt it all back up and enjoy a lower ride. If you have ABS then you will have problems installing air ride shocks. Unless you can mount the compressor in a remote location.

JD solved that problem with his Shotgun shock. I have ABS and was able to install the Shotgun.
