Default V & H baffle question

Im running the big shots on my 01 deuce. Haven't had the baffles in for about 6 years.

I'm thinking of putting them back in but I'm thinking the carbon build up will make it difficult.

Anyone foresee any problems with putting the baffles in but not securing them with the screw? I'm thinking I can gently tap the baffles into the pipe, just beyond the end cap.

Thanks in advance

I will say this...I just put my stock baffles back in after being out for I don't know how long. One took some tapping initially and then went right in. The other took quite a bit more. I hated the sound so much I took them back out . Again one easy, the other took a little more. Decided to get some quiet baffles but before I do wanted to get a vid of no baffles, stock baffles and quiet baffles. Went to put them back in and they just fell into place. I would say without the lock down screw they would blow out in no time. Just from my experience.

Nothing noticeable. I actually just did it and haven't ridden her much. I must admit that I took them back out again and cut them in half. I just hate the sound the give. They actually sound better this way to me and are still quieter than open pipes under throttle. Sound almost the same at idle.

I have big shots on my 2000 Deuce. i took the baffles out and got a higher pitched metalic sound that i hated. I also lost powder due to the loss of back pressure.
Now i am runner Big City Thunder baffles. Better sound and better power for sure.

On my Fatboy, I got a power increase and a deeper better sound with the quiet baffles. The quiet baffles are no where near quiet. Once the fiberglass burns off they sound nice. The increase in back pressure with give you an increase in torque, but nothing spectacular.
I think the screw is mandatory, unless you want them to fall out.

My bike has short shots on it that had no baffles in them when I bought it. I had bad decel popping and it sounded like crap. I put the baffles back in and it sounded much better and got rid of the popping. It doesn't seem any quieter but it's a deeper more pleasant tone.

No screws and they'll blow right out in no time.
