I just got home from picking up my windshield from the glass company. They trimmed off two inches exactly like I had asked and the windshield does not look like anyone cut it at all. They did a super job doing it and the bill was......$11.55. The .55 was tax. They charged me only $11.00 to do the cut and that was removing all the hardware from the shield and cutting and then buffing the edges and reinstalling the hardware on shield. I knew it would be a very reasonable charge, but had no idea it would be absolutely ridiculous. That was the cost of a lunch, not an arm and a leg. I already do all my business with them now, but went to the Harley dealer and told them what a good deal it was so they can recommend the glass company for their work as well.
wow amazing price. How is the windshield for you? Picking mine up on Wednesday he is taking 3" off mine but I'm only 5'5''.
picked up my windshield today, it's now 3 " shorter and yay I can see over the top. Have not been faster than 50mph yet but it seems ok. Looks a whole lot different will post a pic later.

Congrats on the shield. I have taken mine just over 55 and it feels fine to me. No different then before the trim I did on it. I am much more relaxed now that I can see over mine better. It was a real struggle for me before.
This is a very interesting thread as I too find myself constantly shifting between looking through and over the windshield. I have a glass company nearby that will trim my windshield but they warned me it won't look as good as the factory edge. I'm not surprised by this but I would love to see how your windshields look, elderberry and uklauren so I'm looking forward to your pictures.
took mine out for a few hours today, on the Interstate at 65-70 it was pretty windy but it's hard to tell if that was weather or lower windshield, I found that the bike buffetted around at that speeds before too. At lower speeds it felt a bit windier say from 50mph and up but obviously less so than without it, and the noise was fine. I can see great but probably 2 inches would have been enough of a cut.
